On the occasion of Europe Day, a round table "Federalism – also a Model for the EU?" was held at the Representation House of the Federal State of Hessen in Berlin. I participated in the discussion with the Constitutional Judge and former Prime Minister of Saarland Peter Müller and the former Ambassador of Poland to Germany and the USA Janusz Reiter. The presenter was the publicist and head of the Berlin correspondent office Ewald König.

Starting from the programme demands set out in the founding document "Paneuropa. Ein Vorschlag", published on 15 November 1922, first in Berlin and then in Vienna, I pointed out the development of federalism in the structure of the European Union over the past hundred years. For comparison, I focused in particular on the relevant proposals and conclusions of the Conference on the Future of Europe, which were adopted at the plenary session of the European Parliament on 29 and 30 April 2022.
