More than 120 participants from 18 countries gathered on 24–26 June 2022 in the German city of Nuremberg and the Czech town of Poběžovice at the 48th Paneuropean Days organised by the German and the Czech Paneuropean Union. On the occasion of the centenary, the theme of the congress was: "100 Years of Paneurope - a Launching Pad for the Future".

I had the honour of talking on the fundamental Paneuropean thoughts in front of the castle of the Coudenhove-Kalergi family in Ronsperg. I recalled Richard von Coudenhove-Kalergi's programme guidelines and compared them with the conclusions of the Conference on the Future of Europe.

The summary of the congress in the journal of the German Paneuropean Union provides the following review of the lecture: "The International Secretary General of the Paneuropean Union and former Minister of Science and Education of Croatia, Prof Pavo Barišić, gave a fascinating keynote speech in which he described the 'Conference on the Future of Europe', which has been held with 50,000 participants. He boasted it as a 'unique act of deliberative democracy'. This process, coordinated by the Vice-President of the EU Commission and Croatian Paneuropean Dubravka Šuica, must now be continued in a convention to reform the EU treaties."
